The wooden church
The wodden church of the old Barsana Monastery shouldn't be confused with the new wooden church belonging to the today's monastery. The old church was built in 1711 and is on the World Heritage UNESCO list together with other seven churches from the area. It was built by a priest and his sons, together with the people of the village. The inside paintings are currently being restored.

Concerts & Festivals in Maramures

If you're interested in clubs or good restaurants, the best place to go is the city of Baia Mare. If you decide to spend the night in the village, though, you can ask your host to cook for you some traditional Maramures dishes for dinner.
