Lower Dnestr National Park, Bessarabia

Lower Dnestr ("Nistrul de Jos" in Romanian) is about to become the first national park of Moldova Republic (Bessarabia). The park was submited to become a UNESCO biosphere reservation. It is easely accesible from Chisinau, less than two hours south-east.
The area is located in the south-eastern corner of the region, close to the Nistru (Dnestr) river's flow into the Black Sea. Although it is not yet officially constituted as National Park, the area is unique in the Moldovan region. Purcari wine area, with the oldest cellars in Bessarabia will be included, as well as portions of Nistru river, the source of Hagider river, steppe landscapes, Togai reservation and Olanesti reservation.
