There are 8 natural reservation within the Park: the gorges of Caras, the source of Nera river, the gorges of Garliste, the source of Caras river, Buhui cave and Buhui lake, Comarnic cave and Popovat cave.

Places to visit in Semenic - Cheile Carasului National Park, Romania

Semenic National Park is located in the southern Banat area of Banat-Crisana region. Semenic Mountains and Anina Mountains are located in the area.

Buhui Lake
It is the first artificial lake in Romania, built in more than a century ago in order to provide the town of Anina with fresh water. In the area you can also find one of the longest underground rivers in Romania, called Buhui river, 3km long.

Comarnic Cave
It is one of the largest in Romania. Located in Anina Mountains, around Carasova village the cave is over 5km long. It displays monumental halls and huge stalagmites.

Garlistei Gorges
Are also located in Anina Mountains, close to Anina town. They're 9km long and over 100 caves are located along the way.
